Teju Cole, the award-winning, Nigerian-American writer of Open City was invited to present a talk about Lagos, the African supercity, at the Open Book Festival held at the Fugard Studio in Cape Town, South Africa, on September 9. Thanks to Mandy J Watson from brainwavez.org, a collective of culture and tech writers to which I now belong (we are like the Illuminati…but with more tea…and fewer triangles, too), I was able to secure press passes to the event and meet one of my favourite writers.
Below are pictures I took from the event. For words on meeting Teju click on the following link: Teju Cole Examines The African Supercity.
Always on the lookout for new authors ever since being introduced to the likes of zadie Smith and Junot Diaz. I’m already looking for an excerpt of Open City.
